Prerequisites
eDOCS DM 16 with a MS SQL backend is set as the default eDOCS DM connector version. If your eDOCS DM installation is version 10 or 5 or Oracle a few steps are required before setting up a connection:
- Stop the ViaWorks Edocs DM Fetch Service on all servers.
- For all Locator servers, open File Explorer and go to the eDOCS DM Fetch folder: <<Program Files>>\VirtualWorks\ViaWorks\edocsdm
- The connector uses the files 'ConnectorDefinition.xml' and 'IdentificationDefinition.xml'. Select the file matching version and database backend and rename to 'ConnectorDefinition.xml' and 'IdentificationDefinition.xml.
- The 'ConnectorDefinition.xml' options are:
- ConnectorDefinition.xml - Default with support for eDOCS DM 16.x+ with MSSQL database backend.
- ConnectorDefinition_edocsdm5 - eDOCS DM 5.x+ with MSSQL database backend.
- ConnectorDefinition_edocsdm10 - eDOCS DM 10.x+ with MSSQL database backend.
- ConnectorDefinition_oracle.xml - eDOCS DM 16.x+ with Oracle database backend.
- ConnectorDefinition_oracle_edocsdm5.xml - eDOCS DM 5.x+ with Oracle database backend.
- ConnectorDefinition_oracle_edocsdm10.xml - eDOCS DM 10.x+ with Oracle database backend.
- The 'IdentificationDefinition.xml' options are:
- IdentificationDefinition.xml - Default with support for all versions with MSSQL database backend.
- ConnectorDefinition_oracle.xml - All versions with Oracle database backend.
- The 'ConnectorDefinition.xml' options are:
- Repeat step 2. and 3. for all Locator servers with the connector installed.
- Start the ViaWorks Edocs DM Fetch Service on all the servers.
