The main chat interface of the Ayfie Personal Assistant is the heart of your interaction with the AI. It is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, allowing you to communicate effectively with the assistant to get answers, perform tasks, and analyze information.

Starting a New Chat

  • Default landing: The New Chat page is the default post-login landing, allowing users to engage with the AI immediately.

  • Start over with defaults: To start a new conversation, click on "New Chat" from the left-hand menu. This will begin a new conversation with the default model, no Instruction selected and no Files selected.

  • Start a new chat with current settings: Using the “Reset Chat” button under the right side of the top menu bar will start a new conversation, but retain the currently selected Model, Instructions and Files.

Chat Window Features

  • Conversation Display: The main area of the chat interface displays the ongoing conversation. Messages from you and responses from the AI are shown in a threaded format, making it easy to follow the dialogue.

  • The Chat Input Box: Located at the bottom of the interface, it is where you can type your questions or commands. The interface supports natural language input, making it easy to communicate with the AI as you would with a human.

  • Scroll and Navigate: You can scroll through the conversation to review previous messages. This is useful for maintaining context and ensuring continuity in your discussions.

File Upload and Management

  • Drag and Drop Files: The chat interface allows you to upload files directly into the conversation. You can drag and drop files into the chat window, or use the "Upload files" button to select documents from your device. Once uploaded, the AI can analyze the content of the files, providing summaries, insights, or specific information based on your queries. Top Menu Bar

  • Model Selection: You can select from various AI models available in your Personal Assistant instance. Each model may offer different capabilities, allowing you to tailor the assistant's responses to your specific needs based on the complexity or nature of the task at hand. In some types of Personal Assistant deployments, the choice of available models can be customized by the application administrator. Please note that some models are designated as Premium models - users of the free version of Personal Assistant are

Chat Options and Settings

  • Prompt Assistance: The chat interface includes options for prompt assistance, which can help guide your interactions by suggesting possible queries or commands.

  • Suggestions: Toggle suggestions on or off to receive helpful hints or recommendations from the AI. This feature can enhance your experience by providing additional context or ideas for further exploration.

Continuity and History

  • Resume Conversations: If you navigate away from the chat, you can easily return to it via the "Chat History" section. This ensures that you can pick up where you left off without losing any context.

  • Download Conversations: For record-keeping or offline review, you can download the entire conversation. This feature is useful for documentation or sharing insights with others.

  • Clear Layout: The chat interface is designed with a clean and clear layout, minimizing distractions and focusing on the conversation.

  • Responsive Design: The interface is responsive, ensuring a seamless experience across different devices, whether you're using a desktop, tablet, or smartphone.
