Uploading Files
Personal Assistant does not keep your data forever. Inactive files may be removed after a certain time since their upload or last use in a chat. See Data retention limits for details.
Personal Assistant is not a cloud storage solution. Uploaded files cannot be downloaded, they can only be used as context for the AI chat tool.
Using the Personal Assistant to ask questions related to contents of a provided document (or set of documents) is one of the most common use cases. To facilitate this, users can upload files to Personal Assistant in multiple ways.
Anywhere in PA
Click the
Upload Files
option in the side panel to open a file selection dialog.
In the chat session
Drag and drop documents (including images, if the selected AI model supports that) directly into the chat session
If the file you want to use is an image, and the selected AI model supports them, drag and drop the image into the chat input
In the My Files
screen
Drag and drop documents into the
My Files
screenClick the
Upload
button on the upper right corner of theMy Files
screen to open a file selection dialog.
From Ayfie Locator (if using PA integration in Locator)
Select the documents using their checkboxes (visible upon hovering on the upper left of the search result) and then clicking the
Send to Personal Assistant
button above the results pane.In the List View, the checkbox in the table’s header row will select or deselect all items.
Please note that after the files are uploaded, Personal Assistant will need to process them before you can use them in chat. The processing time will depend on the size of the document. Images, unless very large, are usually near-instant.
