Agent - Uploading Files

Agent does not keep your data forever. Files that remain unused for some time may be removed. See Agent - Data retention limits for details.

Agent is not a cloud storage solution. Uploaded files cannot be downloaded and can only be used as context in chats.

A common way to use Agent is to ask questions about the contents of your documents. You can upload files to Agent in several ways.

In the chat session

  • Click Upload new file in the Resources panel to open a file selection dialog.

  • Drag and drop documents into the Resources panel.

  • If the file you want to use is an image and the selected model supports images, drag and drop it into the chat input.

From Search (Agent integration in Search)

  • Select the documents using their checkboxes (visible when you hover over the upper-left of each search result) and then click the Send to Agent button above the results pane.

    • In the List View, the checkbox in the table’s header row will select or deselect all items.

After files are uploaded, Agent must process them before they are available in chat. Processing time depends on the size and type of the document; images are usually processed almost instantly unless they are very large.
