Agent - Process File

Agent - Process File

The Agent can apply custom instructions to a document in a single step – for example, extracting key points, reformatting content, or generating summaries.

This is an optional feature and must be enabled by an administrator before it is available to users.

Key Features

  • Custom document processing – Apply user‑defined instructions to an entire document in one command.

  • Flexible instructions – Use prompts for tasks such as summarization, analysis, reformatting, and content extraction.

  • Context‑aware output – Agent considers the full document when applying your instructions so the result stays logically consistent.

Supported File Types

This feature supports the same file types as other Agent features, including Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, PDFs, and common text files.

Important Limitations

  • Single file processing – Only one file can be processed at a time. Processing multiple files in parallel is not supported.

  • Content-based processing – Processing is based on text extracted from the file.

  • Automated formatting – Formatting is applied automatically to improve readability, so the processed document’s layout and formatting may differ from the original.

  • Processing time – Processing larger files may take longer to complete.

  • Instruction-dependent output – The quality and accuracy of the output depend on the clarity and specificity of the instructions you give to the Agent.

3. Provide Processing Instructions:

Specify your processing instructions in your request (for example, “Extract all action items from this document” or “Reformat this document as a Q&A”).

If your request is invalid (for example, no file selected or more than one file selected), Agent explains the issue and how to fix it.

4. Processing Responses:

The Agent will process your file according to your instructions and deliver the processed content.

Troubleshooting

If the Agent refuses to process a document or doesn't understand your request, you can try the following:

  • Simplify your instructions and make them more specific.

  • Break complex requests into simpler, single‑purpose instructions.

  • Ensure you have selected exactly one file before issuing the command.
