Prerequisites

  • The user performing the steps in this guide needs to be an 365 Admin

  • An Active Azure Subscription with an active price plan (tier)

Requesting access to the Azure OpenAI Service

  1. Navigate to Microsoft Azure Portal - https://portal.azure.com/

  2. Click on "More Services" within "Azure services".

  3. Within "Categories" (on the left side), select "AI + machine learning".

  4. Select "Azure OpenAI" in the “Azure AI Services”-list

  5. In the top left, click the "Create" button.

  6. One will now be presented a window where one first has to select a Subscription and a link to the Lars Gjestang ?????

    1. Select the Subscription (1) that one wants the OpenAI and Personal Assistant to be connected to.

    2. Click the link (2) which takes one to a new page where one can request access to Azure OpenAI service.
      Note: One has to re-do this request to Microsoft if one wants to change the subscription in the future

Submitting the form

Most of the questions and forms are self-explained, however a few topics that might be confusing a bit confusing and are covered here:

Note: There are several topics that are optional and can be ignored

  • 3. How many Azure Subscription ID's would you like to have access to this service?

    • Select 1

  • 4. Please provide your 1st Azure Subscription ID (not your Tenant ID)

    • Again, ensure the ID one paste in here is the subscription ID of the subscription one wants to use for OpenAI and not one’s TenantId.
      Note: If you want to change the Subscription ID for OpenAI at a later stage one needs to send a new application

  • 14. Is your organization an ISV, SI, or MSP?

    • If one’s company can be categorized within one of the options, then select that one.

    • If not, use the Other field and enter one’s company’s category, for instance:

      • Legal Services Provider

      • Municipality

      • Consumer Goods Company

  • 18. Which Azure OpenAI service feature(s) are you requesting access for?

    • Select only Text and code models

  • 19. Text and code: Select your use case(s) (will show when you select the option above)

    • Select the use-cases which fits your organizations. However, here is a suggestion for the use-cases based on our typical customer:


When done, click “Submit”. One will receive an email shortly after confirming that one has submitted a request for the Azure OpenAI service.

Note: The request may take approximately 10 days but from several cases it only takes 1-2 days to get the approval.
