The ViaWorks Locator administrator has the option to configure Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) for Internet Information Services (IIS) on the ViaWorks Server. By configuring SSL, this will prevent passwords from being sent in the clear, and will ensure the encrypted transmission of all data, including user credentials, sent from the ViaWorks Locator web client, as well as from any user interface utilizing the ViaWorks Locator REST API, to the ViaWorks the Locator server.
