The Locator administrator has the option to configure Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) for Internet Information Services (IIS) on the ViaWorks Server. By configuring SSL, this will prevent passwords from being sent in the clear, and will ensure the encrypted transmission of all data, including user credentials, sent from the Locator web client, as well as from any user interface utilizing the Locator REST API, to the Locator server.
