MyWorks is an easy to install ayfie Locator client for Windows. The installation can be run from any ordinary end user account, without local administrative security level rights.
Installing MyWorks
MyWorks is available from the Locator search page. Click on the menu icon and then "Client Downloads". Click the "Download and Install MyWorks" button to download the executable file.
1. After downloading, run the file "MyWorks.exe"
2. Accept the license agreement. Please read the license terms and mark the check box to confirm you accept the terms and conditions.
3. Start the installation
- Simply click the "Install" button to initiate.
- If the computer already has Microsoft .NET Framework v4.0 installed, the installation will typically take less than 10 seconds. Otherwise it can take up to 20 minutes, depending upon internet connection speed.
- During the MyWorks Client installation, you will be asked which ViaWorks Server you want to access for your search queries. Please enter the server name or IP address.
- After installation you can easily change the server at any time. Simply click on the MyWorks System Tray icon using your right-hand side mouse button. Click "Select server…", and enter the correct server address name or IP address.
4. Completing Installation
- Click the "Launch" button to start MyWorks, or "Close" to close the installation wizard.
Once the installation is complete and the client is started, the MyWorks client will appear on your desktop. The MyWorks application is docked at the top right of the screen by default. To move it, click and drag while holding down the shift key. Note that you must click along the outside edge of the application, not in the search box or on the help button.
