- Run the file "Locator_2.release#.build#.exe"
- Depending upon your User Account Control settings (UAC), you might be prompted whether or not you will allow the Locator installer to make changes to the computer (i.e. that the installer will be allowed to run with elevated permission).
- Click "Yes" to continue.
- Review and resolve any pre-installation warnings
- Read the End-User License Agreement.
- If you accept the terms, check the "I agree to the license terms and conditions" checkbox.
- The “Next” button will now be enabled.
- Click the “Next” button.
- Index and OCR Languages
- Select the languages for the index and OCR engines. The top language in the list is the default and fallback language
- Click Next
- Installation Options
- If you want to install Locator to a location other than the default, then change the target locations on the following dialog. You may choose to install to any valid local drive and/or directory.
- Install Options
- Choose either the Typical or Custom install option
- Typical: Installs using a PostgreSQL database and the 3 standard connectors: File Server, Exchange, SharePoint
- Custom options:
- Server Address: For multi-server setups, enter the Licensing and ZooKeeper address of the primary server
- Database Information: Choose either a PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server database
- PostgreSQL: Choose a name for the Locator database.
- MS SQL: Follow the Database Installation guide to set up the database and database service account prior to completing this page of the installer
- Fill in the MSSQL database information and Verify the connection
- Custom Install Options: Choose which components and connectors to install
- Start the Installation
- Click the “Install Locator ” button to start the installation.
- Depending on the performance of the Locator server, the installation may take up to 30 minutes to complete.
- Complete the Installation
- Click the “Launch Locator ” button to open up the Locator Management Console, or click the “Close” link to close the installation wizard. If you launch the Locator Management Console, the splash screen momentarily appears.
- Installing your License
- Within the Locator Management Console, on the "Add Locator License" page, enter your Customer ID and License Key that was provided to you by ayfie.
- Click "OK"
