New Features & Improvements
ViaWorks 2.7.2970 is a new product release containing the following new features, improvements and bug fixes:
Attention:
- The index will be rebuilt after the upgrade has finished. The index rebuild can potentially take a while, and users may not be able to search or have incomplete search results until the rebuild completes. Documents will not be re-fetched during this process.
- All customers will be moved to the “ViaWorksV2” SOLR core during the upgrade process. The “ViaWorks” core from versions 2.3 and older is no longer supported.
- After upgrading, SOLR will allocate 25% of physical RAM (4GB minimum) up front. Please ensure the server has a sufficient amount of RAM to accommodate this.
- Saved search URLs or Search Scopes using the platform_date field should be updated to use search_date instead. Using platform_date in 2.7 can cause the Date Refiner to behave unexpectedly.
- Customers using the ePhorte Connector should only upgrade to 2.7 with the help of Professional Services.
- There are known issues using Internet Explorer 9 with the new 2.7 UI. Per Microsoft’s recommendations, users should upgrade to Internet Explorer 11 in order to receive the latest security updates. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/WindowsForBusiness/End-of-IE-support
- Please ensure the Windows Firewall is enabled before installing or upgrading to 2.7.
