License compatibility

If you are upgrading from a previous ViaWorks 2.x release, your ViaWorks 2.x license will continue to work.  If you are installing ViaWorks 2.6 for the first time, or if you are upgrading from ViaWorks 1.5.x, you will be required to obtain a new license key from VirtualWorks.  Contact your VirtualWorks sales representative to obtain your license key.



New Installations

Download the ViaWorks Installation package, and run ViaWorks_2.6.485.exe.  Use a valid License Code and follow instructions on the screen.

Upgrading from a Prior Installation

You can upgrade to this release from a previous ViaWorks 2.x release.

You CANNOT upgrade to this release from ViaWorks 1.5.x or earlier.

ViaWorks 2.6.485 is a service release.  It contains various bug fixes and one significant change.  

When adding new File Server, SharePoint (including OneDrive for Business), and Exchange data connections, the default file types that will be indexed are as follows:

The ViaWorks administrator can add additional file types to be indexed if that is desired, but the file types listed above are the default set.  

This is the default for new data connections and does not affect existing data connections

  • IBM Domino Server (requires Notes Client version 8 or higher)

  • Microsoft Windows File Server

  • Microsoft Exchange Server (versions 2007, 2010, 2013)

  • Microsoft Exchange Online (Single Sign-On only)

  • Microsoft SharePoint Server (versions 2007, 2010, 2013)

  • Microsoft SharePoint Online (including MySites and OneDrive for Business)

  • OpenText Content Server (version 10 and greater)

  • SuperOffice CRM (version 7.0 and greater)
