License compatibility
If you are upgrading from a previous ViaWorks 2.x release, your ViaWorks 2.x license will continue to work. If you are installing ViaWorks 2.5 for the first time, or if you are upgrading from ViaWorks 1.5.x, you will be required to obtain a new license key from VirtualWorks. Contact your VirtualWorks sales representative to obtain your license key.
New Installations
Download the ViaWorks Installation package, and run ViaWorks_2.5.9291.exe. Use a valid License Code and follow instructions on the screen.

Upgrading from a Prior Installation
You can upgrade to this release from a previous ViaWorks 2.x release.
You CANNOT upgrade to this release from ViaWorks 1.5.x or earlier.

ViaWorks 2.5.9291 is a new product release and contains the following new features and improvements:

Updated login screen and added:
“My Most Recently Accessed Files”
Displays last 10 documents opened or downloaded by the user
“My Most Accessed Files”
* Displays the most accessed files by the user sorted by most accessed on top
“My Favorites”
Displays the list of documents specified as favorites by the user.
A document can be specified as a favorite by clicking the yellow star icon on the document hit card.
The ViaWorks homepage displays the first 10 favorites.
The entire list of favorites can be viewed by selecting the Favorites search profile.
If a favorite document is returns in a search query, it will appear at the top of the results list.
Profiles have been replaced with Advanced Filters (default ALL)

Promoted Results are documents that appear highlighted at the top of the search results list when a user searches for specific terms.
The list of Promoted Results is configured by an administrator in the ViaWorks Dashboard.

Improved Preview support: Larger, zoom in/out, go to page #, rotate doc/image
Detailed vs List view moved to left side of screen above refiners

The ViaWorks search bar can be integrated into Outlook Live, or Office 365 Outlook

Improved SharePoint Connector - Web Application Indexing
The setting "Index all "Site Collections" on this server" is available for on premise SharePoint 2013 deployments.
Checking this box will index all site collections in the default SharePoint web application (port 80). Non-standard ports are not supported.
This setting will also index users' My Sites and OneDrive for Business if they are under the default web application (can be excluded on the sub-sites page of the SharePoint wizard).
Newly created site collections within the default web application will automatically be indexed by ViaWorks when this setting is enabled.
