Account & Settings

From the ayfie Locator home page or search results page, you can click on the menu icon at the top right of the page, sign out and configure settings to control some of the search client behavior. 

The menu icon will display a notification if the Document Handler is not installed or Source Credentials are missing. 

User Profile 

This menu allows users to upload a profile picture and change their display name. The picture and name are displayed on the home page. 

Source Credentials 

From this page, you can provide user credentials to data sources that do not use Microsoft Active Directory credentials. The Source Credentials page will only be visible if a source that requires additional authentication is configured. 

UI Language 

From this page, you can select the language in which the web client will be presented. 

 

Client Downloads 

There are three additional, and optional, client programs made available to Locator users that can be downloaded from this page: 

  • MyWorks 
    • An easy to install ayfie client for Windows..   
    • See the “MyWorks Client for Windows” page in this User Guide for details. 
  • Document Handler

    • This feature allows users to open search results from within the user's installed applications. 

    • An alert will be displayed if the Document Handler is not installed. 

    • See the “Document Handler” page in this User Guide for details. 

  • Search Provider

    • Allows you to add ayfie Locator search to your browser.  

Search Scopes 

From this page, you can select which Search Scopes to display in the search bar. There are three types of Search Scopes: 

  • System scopes set by the administrator have a person with a gear icon. 

  • System scopes can be copied and modified to a new personal scope. 

  • Your scopes have a blue person icon if they’re private and a 3-person icon if they’re public. 

  • Your scopes can be edited, copied or deleted. 

  • Other user’s scopes have a gray person icon. 

  • Other user’s scopes are visible if the owner chooses to make them public. 

  • Other user’s scopes can be copied and modified to a new personal scope. 

 

Check which Search Scope to use for the “Latest Updates” section of the home page. Clear the selection to return to the default “Everything” scope. 

Click the “+ New Scope” button to create a new Search Scope. 

Settings 

From this page you can... 

  • Select the number of results per page 

  • Set the number of recent search items to keep 

  • Set the number of results displayed on the home page Latest Updates section 

  • Set the number of results displayed for each source on the home page Latest Updates section 

  • Adjust the font size of search hits 

  • Select between the detailed view, list view, and card view  

  • Select the color of highlighted keywords 

  • Set the refiners to clear before executing a new search 

  • Set the refiners to be expanded by default 

  • Hide Labels displayed on search hits 

  • Set the language used for search queries. This setting is only displayed when multiple search languages were configured during installation. Warning: selecting many languages will impact search performance
