Agent - Instructions
Instructions let you define how Agent should behave in a chat – for example, its role, tone, and level of detail. This keeps Agent’s replies consistent with your workflows and use cases across different sessions and users.
Using Instructions
To use an Instruction, open the Instructions drop‑down and select the radio button next to the one you want. Agent applies the selected Instruction to all replies in the current chat. You can switch Instructions at any time; new replies follow the Instruction you most recently selected.
To create, edit, or delete Instructions, open the Instructions drop‑down and click Settings. The management dialog lets you review existing Instructions and add, edit, or delete them.
Creating new Instructions
After clicking + New Instruction in the Manage Instructions panel, a dialog opens where you define what the Instruction should do and how Agent should respond. Each Instruction has a title for easy identification.
Instruction body – Up to 10,000 characters. Describe the overall behavior you want. For example: “Act as a formal legal editor. Use UK English. Highlight any ambiguous phrasing and suggest clearer alternatives.”
Language and tone – Specify the language and tone Agent should use. This is useful for maintaining brand voice or meeting professional standards.
Behavioral guidelines – Describe how Agent should behave in specific scenarios, such as the level of detail required or any protocols to follow.
Task‑specific instructions – For recurring tasks or specialized projects, add instructions on how Agent should handle those tasks so its output stays consistent.
Contexts – Add optional Contexts (up to 3,000 characters each) with background information Agent should take into account. Because an Instruction can have multiple Contexts, give each one a title for easy identification.
