Ports used by Locator
Web service (w3wp.exe - Internet Information Server)
- Port 80 (TCP) for HTTP
- Bound to 0.0.0.0
- Port 443 (TCP) for HTTPS
- Bound to 0.0.0.0 if setup
SOLR Index Service
- Port 8983 (TCP) for SOLR Admin Dashboard
- Bound to localhost by default, can be overridden
- Port 9983 (TCP) for SOLR ZooKeeper for SolrCloud Deployments
- Bound to localhost by default, can be overridden
PostgreSQL Database Service
- Port 5432 (TCP) for client connections
- Bound to localhost by default, can be overridden when multi server deployments are used.
Locator License Service
- Port 60010 (TCP), used internally by all services of Locator. Also needs to be opened up if your using a multi server Locator installation, as the extra servers use the license service on the main server.
Authority Service
- Port 9889 Bound to localhost by default
- Port 9789 when HTTPS enabled
Microsoft SQL Server
- Port 1433 (TCP) for client connections
- Please note that Locator does not ship with Microsoft SQL Server. If MSSQL is to be used, the customer has to set up the instance and supply a valid SQL Server license and CALs.
Active Directory (used for authentication and security)
- Port 137 (TCP) for NetBIOS Name Resolution
- Port 139 (TCP) for User and Computer Authentication
- Port 389 (UDP/TCP) for LDAP communication
- Port 88 (UDP/TCP) when Kerberos is used for authentication
SharePoint
- Port 80 (TCP) for API connections when SharePoint is configured for HTTP
- Port 443 (TCP) for API connections when SharePoint is configured for HTTPS
- Port 389 (LDAP) for LDAP communication
Exchange
- Port 80 (TCP) for API connections when Exchange is configured for HTTP
- Port 443 (TCP) for API connections when Exchange is configured for HTTPS
- Port 389 (LDAP) for LDAP communication
Filserver
- CIFS uses UDP ports 137 and 138, and TCP ports 139 and 445.
- SMB uses UDP ports 137, 138 and TCP ports 137 and 193, or 445 TCP for direct transport
Document Handler
- Port 15786 (TCP) for connections between Locator search web-page and the locally installed instance of Document Handler.
