Alfresco Connector: Adding a New Connection

Start by opening the Locator Management Console and go to "Connections" > "Alfresco". Start the Connection Wizard by clicking "Add New Connection".

Setting Name	Description
Connection Name	The name of the connection.

Server Name	Hostname or IP address of the Alfresco Enterprise server.

Password	The password of the Alfresco index user.

Enable change sets	If this is enabled the connector will perform incremental crawls in additions to full crawls of Alfresco server.
User foldercrawl service	The foldercrawl service is an add-on that can be installed on Alfresco to handle folders with large numbers of items. If you do not have this service installed, do no check this option.
Regular request page size	Foldercrawl service setting.
Use cached request for large folder	Foldercrawl service setting.

Select document types to exclude	By default, all Alfresco Document Types will be indexed. Select any types to be excluded from list

File Types to Index

The file extension to index. The options are:

Index all file types
- This one will by default index ALL files, regardless of the file format
- For file types associated with the built-in DocFilter content filter, all text content available will be indexed
- For other file types, only available metadata (like file name and path) will be indexed

Index selected file types only (default)
- Will only index the file types listed in the dialog

Exclude selected file types
- Will index everything - except the file types defined in the list
