SharePoint Connector: Adding a New Connection

Start by opening the Locator Management Console and go to Connections > SharePoint and click Add New Connection.

The setup Wizard requires the user account details during configuration.  Make sure that both the index user account and the access rights are working before running the Wizard.

SharePoint Localization Configuration Page

OptionDescription
Use language set on SharePoint's site as "Default Language"

Select this option if you would like to use language set as "Default Language" on the SharePoint site for document metadata field names.

Using this setting will require custom rules if there are site collection with "Default Language" different than English.

Always try to get English names.

Select this option if you would like to use English for document metadata field names.

This setting requires English to be set as at least "Alternate language" on each site collection, otherwise "Default Language" is used.

This option is suggested for new connections.

Mixed

Select this option if you would like to have 2 copies of each localized metadata, one with "Default Language" and second with English used for metadata field names.

This setting requires English to be set as at least "Alternate language" on each site collection, otherwise there will be only "Default Language" copy of the metadata.

This setting is suggested for existing connection with custom rules made on localized metadata.

Index SharePoint data for this connectionSelect this box if you want to index data in this connection.


Note that My Sites can be configured using a On-premise Document Connection.
