Connector issuesÂ
- The reference to a file in the connector include the team member id, as it is needed for interaction with the API when building the source reference. Inside the Dropbox application shared folders can be added to each user's folder structure, and as a consequence of this identical items could be indexed several times. The files are identical, but since we add the current team member id into our references these items would get indexed once for each user having the file in its structure. Some measures have been implemented to avoid duplicated search hits for a user.Â
- One measure to avoid duplication is to only index items for the owner of the document. As a consequence of this, the actual owner of the document needs to be chosen in the Admin Wizard. Then other users sharing the file with the owner also can search for the document. If the owner is not chosen, then the item is not indexed and no users get's hits for this document.
- If a team user has added files from users that are not members of the team, then less information regarding the owner is available for the files. In these cases the team member having the file in it's folder structure get's set as the owner.
